Why Choose Us?
Craftsmanship with Character
At Simon Willis Bespoke Woodwork, we believe quality speaks for itself—but it helps to know the people behind the tools.
Led by Simon Willis, our small team of dedicated craftspeople brings passion, precision, and decades of experience to every project. From hand-built kitchens and furniture to expertly fitted windows and doors, we focus on doing things properly—with an obsessive attention to detail and a deep respect for the materials we work with.
Simon’s Story
Simon left school at 16 to pursue what had already become a lifelong fascination with woodworking. He served his apprenticeship with the world-renowned Mouseman Furniture, where he learned the traditional techniques and uncompromising standards that still shape his approach today.
By 21, he had set up his own workshop, designing and building bespoke furniture for private clients across Yorkshire. Over time, his work naturally expanded into windows, doors, and fitted joinery—but the furniture-making never stopped. To this day, Simon still takes on furniture commissions when the right project comes along.
Now based in North Yorkshire, Simon lives with his wife and two young children. When he’s not in the workshop or on site (which isn’t often), you’ll find him out in the countryside with his family, drawing inspiration from the natural materials and landscapes he loves.
What sets us apart
Craftsmanship Without Compromise
Every piece is made with care, using solid timber, time-honoured joinery, and an eye for the smallest detail. We don't cut corners—because that's not how lasting work is made.
Personal, Professional Service
From first measure to final fit, Simon is involved at every stage. You’ll get honest advice, clear communication, and a finished result that reflects both your vision and our standards.
Tailored, Timeless Design
No two homes—or clients—are the same. That’s why we design around you: your space, your lifestyle, and how you want it to feel every day.
A Reputation Earned Through Work
We don’t advertise much. Most of our work comes through word of mouth and returning clients—people who value quality and trust us to deliver it.
